About Jessica
| There are many people who have made an impact on my life and most of them are teachers. To help someone learn and to pass on knowledge is a wonderful, challenging and rewarding experience.
Since I finished my degree I have been working in Melbourne as an actor, travelling to Indonesia for research and teaching and at the moment I'm working as a director for a busy theatre company. Through my travels I have worked with many different people and understand how everybody learns and works in their own way. Therefore I can offer an open mind, patience and creativity in my lessons, beginning with a lesson plan that will suit the individual, keeping with the requirements of their year of study. I'm equipped to tutor English, Drama and Indonesian studies from years 7 to 12 which includes VCE. I have many resources at my disposal, having come from a family of teachers. I'm available most days and nights and on Sundays, even during school holidays. I began tutoring during the last year of my Arts Degree while I was working as a Student Mentor. Since graduating I have written and developed a show for IGNYTE (Inspiring Global Nous for Youth Through Education), which tours secondary schools in Victoria. During these tours I hold workshops with the students that relate to the show. In Indonesia I have worked as a private tutor for over six months. Currently, I'm directing Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to tour schools in 2010 and 2011 and developing in-school workshops for the English curriculum |
